Talk by Biji Surinder Kaur on 27 July, 2010, the birth anniversary of Hazur Baba Sawan Singh
We all brothers and sisters, we know the significance of this day and there are very deep waves of Sawan which come to us. The vibration of the Master, the grace of the Master is full of the clouds and we are attaining in the form of a shower.
It was the day, 27th July, and our Hazoor Sant Kirpal Singh, He came on the stage and there were some disciples, they were singing the Shabads. It was sunny day and then one said very loudly: “It looks like this, that today Sawan has not come on His throne!” because it was the sunny, with no signs of rain. In the month of Sawan in India is the begin of the rainy season. But at once from all around there were clouds and then there was a rain shower. We are like dead people, we are not able to sing the virtues of such Power.
We are attaining this grace today and we are going through, how Baba Sawan Singh has given the Light, He has given His work to Sant Kirpal Singh. We have to open our ears, we have to remove the stamp as we close from the worldly things so that we are able to listen to Him and our attention can be with Him, so that we can go deep in the Spirituality.
It was the word of the Master that time when someone said: “There are not clouds and shower”, then Master told: “Today the treasure of Hazoor has opened and you can get as much as you want, you can have it.” Before knowing the Master, first we have to know our own self, whether we are prepared to know Him, so that we are able to go within. He is the Shabad of the whole Creation.
Our soul is the disciple and with each breath
the soul is travelling with that Power.
When soul absorbs — becomes one with the Master,
then it is one part of Him.
As we speak about the unity, so we can also say that we — the disciple and the Guru are one — and it is One Power.
What is Ekta, what is unity?
When Sat Guru, Guru Dev, Shabad and soul are one, when we are one with that Power, then there is the real unity. That Shabad, the Radiant Form of Master is for everybody, He is not bound only for the few souls.
Once Master was invited to Bombay and Hazoor was sitting on the stage and there were all new disciples. Then someone asked Master: “What do you feel?” Because there were also people who were not interested in Spiritually . “What do you think, what do you feel about it?” Master told: “Today I feel so good, because today I see the picture of my Guru on the forehead of everybody.”
What we speak about Saints? What is a spiritual person or Saint if They are not able to give the stream of the Spirituality to the others?
That time Master told: “One man is the Guru of another one, that means, I am same like you and I was simply prepared in this world, but everybody has to come and become perfect over here.” He told: “I will ask you something and I will tell something to you and if it is good for you, you keep it, if it is good for you, it is okay, otherwise I will go.”
Then Master only told one line and everybody was attracted or they were touched with these words. He told:
“The real Guru is for the whole Creation, He is not only for few persons
and where there are holy people — those who are pure-hearted,
there He can appear.”
The one who is blessed from within, who is blessed or stamped to give the Initiation to help in this world, only that one can help and take us back.
Where Master held the Satsang, there were officers and such kind of people, and they raised their hands and Master told: “Let me finish my topic and then only you should raise your hand to ask questions and get answers.”
Master is like a Granth (Holy Book), it is like one book full of His Teaching and it can never be finished. With this Teaching we are able to cross the Bhav Sagar (ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰ — the treacherousness Ocean of our worldly existence). As long as this Power does not come to us, to guide us, we cannot work, we cannot go further.
There are some secrets of Spirituality and we cannot cross it only by reading. The competent One, the competent Master, He is only the one to guide us, then only we can go further. Without His help, it is impossible. According to the time, the Master Power comes in this world.
How Sant Kirpal Singh met Baba Sawan Singh?
It was that time when Sant Kirpal Singh met Baba Sawan Singh, He just wanted to go to the river to have some walk and He asked: “Is there any river?” And then somebody told: ”Yes, you want to have the Darshan of Hazoor?” And then after that, when He met Him, and then He went to Master Baba Sawan Singh and then He told: “Why so late?” Baba Sawan Singh stood up while He saw, that Master is coming and then He told: “Why it is so late?” Then it was the word of Master: “It is late but I could come on the right place.”
Then Master told: “There is nothing higher than the pure water because the pure water is always pure even when the sinners are taking the bath in the water, it remains pure.” These were the words between Baba Sawan Singh Ji and our Master and He kept the Treasure for us and what we are attaining, we are enjoying out of this Treasure.
This is the real love of the Satguru and we are taking bath in it. Then it was the word of Sant Kirpal Singh:
“Master, without taking anything, I am intoxicated with you.
I feel to become one with you. I am full without eating.
If you could give more grace to me, that my eye becomes one with you and I can keep your whole form in my eyes all the time and you are never away from me.
Would you give me such a shower of your blessing, that I can sit at Your feet all the time.”
This is the effect of the unity, to become one with Guru.
Because Satguru and the Malik (Owner or God), They are One from the beginning, from the very first moment. So there are so many names for the Mahapurushas, for the great Masters.
When you remember Him, He will come.
We only have to remove our dirty (worldly) baggage so that He can reside in us and then we are able to see Him, as He is already within us.
There is no difference between Satguru and Malik (God),
They become One, they are One.
They are from the one place, only outwardly you can see a difference, but from inside They are getting the same food (Naam) and They are giving the food to the souls and for Them there is no difference old or new ones.
He is the only Giver, He is all the time ready to give you intoxication and He asks the disciple: “Which kind of intoxication you want to have?” He has the different colours, different kinds of dye in His treasure, and as we are prepared, we get the colour.
In which Satsang are we sitting today?
We need to search for Him. We are sitting here, we have different languages and we are able to tell something, but inner language is only one.
When the Malik — the competent One — comes to this world to make our journey complete, how He is teaching the inner language to us? He told: “To read or to write, this is not the way to go within.”
Satguru is the Word and Word is the Satguru.
When we remember and silently repeat the Simran, the words of the Satguru, then only we are able to rise above into the higher Mandals (Regions). We should not have any other purpose of this world before Master, but our purpose with Him is only to attain Him.
Our Master used to say in few words:
“O man, know thyself!”
Where are you standing?
This body what you have, it is not forever, one day it will be destroyed and what house you have — the body — it will be finished one day. We just came like a guest and one day this bird (our soul) will fly away and then this house (body) is empty. Inside is the path very difficult and Baba Sawan Singh told (about the inner Ocean):
“If we learn how to swim, only then we are able to swim in it,
it is very deep and only a very rare one can understand and go within.”
When we are silently repeating, remembering the words, the Simran, the Naam the Guru has given and by this help, we are able to develop and only then we can progress in the Bhakti Margh (Path of Devotion).
There is no place where there is no Master. The Master, the Radiant Form, is not only here, He is working in the Khand Brahmand (whole Creation). And He comes to give the lesson to the disciples. He comes in the Radiant Form, it is called “Guru Dev”.
We must understand what Spirituality really means. It is the subject to go within, as we always read that is where we can walk without feet, where we can see without the outer eyes, and where we can listen without our outer ears.
When one closes these outgoing faculties and is able to go in the inner light, it is such a light that you cannot stand before this light. And when Bhaktas (devotees) are getting the shower from above, only then they are able to go within. When we are free from this worldly bondage, only then the Radiant Form helps us and appears to us within. We can only have His Darshan (view) with our inner eyes. When Master appears to us, when He gives the Darshan (with His radiant form), then the net of the doubts finish and then the our Sewa (service) is accepted.
Now we go into the topic, how is Hazoor giving the food to the soul in this world. He is the only Power Who comes to unite the soul with the God Power. There are the different names for each stage. That Power comes in this world to unite us with that Power, with His inner stream.
The competent Master comes from the within, according to the inner law, according to the Divine law, He has to come in this physical world to work through a Saint or Guru. As we say Guru and we also say Satguru, means Sat (unchangeable Truth or God) and Guru (Teacher), They are One — the competent One and the Guru they have the one Word (Naam), He is filled from within. He is the Giver, He is the Owner (Malik) of that treasure from where the inner food (Nectar) comes to us. He is giving such food to the souls, that when souls are perfect, one is developed, they get the food, the grace from Him, even those who love Him, they also get through them.
Today is the time that Guru Dev is giving His full grace upon everybody, He is working in this world. When one is awakened, they can get the food, right now. His virtues are so great, that we are not able to sing about it. But the condition of our soul is, we are in deep sleep so we are not able to see that Power.
When we see how Master is giving His stream from the above Mandals (regions) asthool (outer) world, in this physical world, from His stage high above. This Power, the Master is giving from inside. It is the secret Bani, the inner Bani and He gives very secret way to the soul. The secret of His throne can only be told in His way — in His natural way.
But we are empty from His colour, our pot (body) is empty and it is giving more (outer) sound while we are empty. The competent Master does not like that His souls, His children are (unconscious) like a dead person. Our Master Sant Kirpal Singh used to say,
“Try to have the friendship with that inner Power,
then you can see how He opens the door of inside.”
The Almighty, Guru Dev, is only the One who can give the inner nectar and then our soul can enjoy it. When we see above, then Hari (God), Satguru and Shabd are all One. There He opens the secret of Alakh and Agam (highest regions). The Agam Hasti, the Param Atma, the God Power, They are One. So the competent One, the Guru Dev, He is giving His word in the Gurmukh to work in this physical world. And in the asthool (physical) world, the asthool (outer) Guru and Shish (true disciple), they all are one while they get the inner Power. In the Sukhmana (middle Nadi or Path), in the Karan, Maha Karan (regions) He is sending the rays of His sun to give the Light to His disciples.
The colour of the Bhaktas (devotees), the words of the Bhaktas change by getting this grace. But we should have the friendship only with the competent One. We should absorb in Him. Our purpose should only be to attain Him. We should learn to be one with Him, then He gives His colour. Then you can see His picture on the forehead of the Bhaktas. When our condition is like this, then He opens the inner door.
It is the voice of the Master from inside:
“O Lovers of God,
if you have so much yearning in your heart to have His Darshan,
if you prepare yourself to quench your thirst,
then you should have such tears in your eyes,
that He can see your yearning, the pain of separation,
that you want Him and Him alone.
Why shall He not receive the cry of your soul?”
When we have the tears in our eyes of His separation, then Master washes our inner dirt.
“O my Master, you should come in my life.”
When Master is residing in someone, by seeing the condition, He can reside in the heart of such soul. So He gives His Word (Naam), He is showing the way to come above only through the inner language. Then He opens the door while we are in this physical world and then we are at the condition that we reach at the seat of the soul and then He is prepared, He is ready to receive the soul.
To see the beauty of our Master of our Father, we need very pure eye so that we can get the more light to see Him. And to be able to listen without ears, our ears must be closed from the outer world. We should be in such a condition, that we are prepared that He can reside in us and He can give His inner colour to us.
Our Master Sant Kirpal Singh, He used to go above and He got every time the message from within then only He could deliver to His children. Master was given duty to hold the Satsang in Amritsar and then once it was also program of Baba Sawan Singh to come over there and then Master was preparing and He was waiting for Him. Then suddenly they got message that Hazoor is not coming. Then Master was so sad and He was having so much pain of separation in Him because He told He came for Satsang and same time He would like to have His Darshan and this was the pain in Him.
He was sitting afterwards on the stage and He was writing (a poem) with His pen:
“He will come and sure He will come!”
Only few words He was writing again and again. And then on other hand, Baba Sawan Singh while He was sitting in Dera (Beas), He could see His inner condition how He is having pain and yearning to see Him, so He asked His driver to go to Amritsar. Then driver said: “But Hazoor, you have already cancelled the program!” He replied: “No there is some important work!” The time passed by travelling and finally Hazoor reached Amritsar, as Sant Kirpal Singh was sitting in the same condition as He saw Him inside. He said: “This was the pain of the separation and when one is having so strong in heart, it also attracts to the other heart.” And He further said: “If such pain is on heart, He cannot stand in His way He has to come.” And so this is the condition, if we have this pain of separation, then our Master cannot stop, He has to come and give His Darshan. Guru is a great thing and it is very difficult to live without Him, without Him everything is just tasteless. He is giving shower from His treasure. The stream, the flow is there, to whom He blesses, gives grace, can take shower in it.
Soul wants to sit in the assembly of Naam with the Guru, to have the love from the Guru. It is no use to be there outwardly if you are not able to listen in the Kirtan (Sound), in the inner melody of Sach Khand. He has a very big treasure in His House and it is open for all, but only those who are developed and He is giving the grace upon someone, only that lucky one can get it, they can attain from within. Those who are able to rise above, who are able to see Him, they can see the rising sun. Then the crying of the heart, of the soul is like this that when they spent their night with Master then they say: ”O Master, make my night too long, so that I can be longer with my beloved!” Because there is short time again back in this nest, in this body, so that they can be shortly in this nest.
He is our true Friend. He has to keep the friendship with us until our internal Home. So we have not the friendship with any so-called master. We should only be able to have such eyes so that we are able to see His House. There are melodies, there are Light and Sound and everything we can only get from inner (higher) planes with His help. When one is not able to give us such inner melody, such inner sound and light, then there is no use to follow such so-called one.
Master said:
“O my disciples who are in the search of God,
try to find the Truth and have the friendship only with the True One.”
We should have only the picture of the True Friend on our heart. Master told Himself about His time that when He was given this duty for Satsang and after the Satsang by the grace of the Almighty, He told then in the Sangat there was so much vibration that they started to move like with intoxication and then many were behind and they loved to Him. In the end, many complained to Baba Sawan Singh: “When Kirpal holds the Satsang then people are too much attracted to Him and they are attached to Him.” Then Baba Sawan Singh replied: “That is not Satsang where there is not shower of His grace. Only when the souls get true yearning during the Satsang that they want to become one with the Master Power, and during that time they feel one with Him.” This is the story between the Guru and the Sikh (disciple).
We are very lucky and He has given us such a colour because He is the Giver and Owner (Malik) of the inner stages. He is the King and He takes His souls along with Him. He helps to travel in this world, He is the Truth (Sat) and He has the Treasure of Truth. He is really everything for us, and we are lucky to have such Power with us. When the souls are preparing and at the time of Naam He is giving some Grace (He attained by His hardships) that the soul feels intoxicated by the bliss.
Whatever I tell, it also happened to us, the story between the Gurmukh and the Guru. When Master came to Rahon (town near Kirpal Sagar) and He wanted to give His car to Bhaji but Bhaji already bought the Fiat car, but Master wanted to go and give His car to Bhaji. So He came in the Rahon to have inauguration or foundation stone for one clinic or hospital, and then many came for His Darshan and then suddenly light was off. This was the time when Master and Bhaji met together, so He gave something to Master and Master had something from Him and it was between them. And when everything was okay then light was again on. Then Tai Ji (Madam Hardevi) told: “What was this?” She started to smile and she told: “Saints are also like actors, they are having everything in their own hand.” This was like a Parshad (blessing) for Him. So we could see that He has given some inner light so that they could deal with each other. The God Power, the Master Power is the switch of the light and They are the power-house and They are giving the light of their power-house to everybody which never can be finished by using.
That time He has given such a bricks (work) to us, He has given such a work to us with Kirpal Sagar and I pray before Master that this work should not be finished until our life. It was the same as Baba Sawan Singh was giving Parshad to Sant Kirpal Singh, He was putting on His cloth and then it was so full that He was giving and He was taking but then He was going on doing like this and it was overflowing — and both were not in the body. He has given us such a Parshad. He has given the Parshad to us, to whom He has given and who has given, they both are not physically, but that house, that Parshad they give, this is the life for us.
So we have the friendship with such a Power and we should not waste our time. We should only spend our time with Sewa, with Guru Sewa and Guru Bhakti.
What is Sewa?
When we clean the dirt of our own self by doing the Sewa.
And what is Guru Sewa?
Guru Sewa is what Master has given us the Naam, we develop in it so that we are able to go to our house. And Guru Bhakti is to develop in it. He has given us Sewa and Master has given us so much practical things. He told: “Time will come when you will tell everything, when you will put out, people will say that you are mad or crazy.” People may think it is not possible, but whatever they are telling, it is so positive, such a grace Master has given. And even if we write the Granth (holy book), it can be made out of it.
Whatever Master has given me the duty, I could try to fulfill it and I hope, I pray that Master should give Parshad to everybody and today is 27th July and Master should give grace to all, He should give all His shower upon everybody so there is no one who can only get a little shower out of it. It is right, today it is exactly one month we are here and I try to fulfill the promise, the work what Master has given to me. Whenever I find new things, I tell to children the message from Master, what has has given to me. I always wish what Master has given to me should not be use to me only, it should be for everybody. And once again I pray to Master that He should give the shower of His blessing upon everybody, at least on this day.
