Let every day be a new life for you! by Dr Harbhajan Singh (20:32)
As we rise into the New Year we have to rise into the higher consciousness to deal with the eternal life.
Each year that comes in life,
that must bring Light and Life within us.

And every year has its own significance in the life of man. Because weather changes: some time it is winter weather, some time it is hot weather — so all our habits are changed likewise.
Geographically if you see to it, you find lots of variations among many, many people. They have their different taste, they have their different mode of life, and they have their different view on different subjects.
But when Masters come in the world, they give us one opinion. They say,
“Rise above these things so that you are not affected with it.
You always should have the new life in you.
You should think that you are going ahead with the goal,
rather nearer to the goal.”
So Sant Kirpal Singh, who has done a wonderful work in the world, He has given us His life impulse.

This heart, it is a throne of the God, where God has to dwell (in us), and this must remain clean all the time. So in the New Year we have to find many, many faults in us. Faults are there, nobody in the world is without a fault.
But when he becomes conscious co-worker of Divine Plan, his faults wither away from him, they do not live with it. Because then they do not find any place to live within. Then they have to go away.
So we should remember our lesson every day. And what this lesson tells us?
To be very careful about ourselves and the Mission of the Master.
The first thing is that we have direct and independent contact with that Power. And there is only one Doer, that is the Master Power, God Power, or the Word-Personified-Form which creates our link.

As it is said (in the Bible),
“Ye be as perfect as your Father is in the Heaven.”
— Matthew 5:48
And how does the perfection come?
Perfection comes through the Perfect One. Those who are perfect, They teach you the lesson of perfection.
Without a Perfect One, there can be no perfection. Because there is always radiation, that radiates through the Perfect One. Each moment, each time, whenever we come in contact with such personality we get some lesson. Our consciousness is raised, our consciousness is developed by doing so.
What is His purpose?
The One who is perfect, He will never attach you, he will never make any contact with himself. He makes that contact directly with God Power. He is already connected with Him, and he will make this connection with Him (God). Your connection also — He binds there, and his purpose is not a different one, I tell you. So in this connection we know this subject also, we have to be very careful.
Secondly, one thing we should remove from our heart, that we should never criticize, we should never doubt or blame anybody. These three things we should remember all the time, because this comes through the mind.
This is the habit of the mind —
to criticize, to blame or doubt anybody.

Master says,
“If you find any difficulty, any shortcoming,
any sinful act in any person, try to weed out.
Help him to weed out. It is not to put oil into the fire.
But always we should weed it out.
You know we have to do it very loveably.”

There is a darkness in the house (human body), this house is very, very old, maybe 40, 60, 30, 20 years, or fifty years old. It is all darkness. You cannot remove the darkness by striking the rod there. Only you have to kindle the light there, the light of love there. Within seconds — only by taking the light there — you will see that everything is within (the human body). But there is no other way then to remove the darkness there. So in this way we come in contact with more virtues in us.
You know, many people, may be many people among us also, they fear to get rid of their problems or some evils or some sin they committed, lest it comes out and it will bring a disrespect to them. No, there is a way!
You know, the mind always runs through these holes (sense organs). Mind has so many reasons to harm you there with these outlets. So to keep any evil or sin with us is to keep us away from the Truth.
You know mind has — mind or snake it is called . . .
Those who saw the mind within,
they saw the snake within.
So mind is said to be the snake. And it brings uneven atmosphere and uneven situation in the life of man. You see that the snake runs very fast on the uneven place, it cannot run on the very soft place, it will slip and cannot run.
So is the condition of the mind. If we have some uneven places in our heart, the mind will react very much there. So to get rid of it there is a very panacea, there is a remedy to cure it. We should not have any ill thought, we should clear it, we can overcome it by good thoughts, good deeds, and good actions.
Because whatever we committed beforehand we should forget it. We should not remember it at all, but we should not bring it to our thoughts. Because thoughts are very potent. When those things are brought to the thoughts, it floats on our reservoirs and brings reaction there.
There are remedies, for whatever we put into deeds and actions. But whatever we do not commit, we commit it only with thoughts, but when the thoughts become thoughtless, those become very potent and they react (in) our consciousness, the reservoirs, and it brings a reaction within.
Because those thoughts remain unattended, they are not cleared. So it is just like putting dirt on dirt, and it becomes very heavy there.
We have to be very careful about our thoughts,
about our sins or evil, if we did.
We should wash it away by good thoughts,
good deeds, and good actions.
We should not think of them even in our life.

We do not pay attention to these little, little things, they become very strong like mountains inside.
So it is all the act of the mind. Once I asked our Master Sant Kirpal Singh, I said, “Master, there are so many versions, there are so may ways and means written and explained by lot of Masters, how to control the mind, how to overcome our wishes. But many of them may not be so possible, so applicable in our life, as people they cannot get rid of the mind.”
Master said, “I tell you a very simple way to control the mind.” — You know mind is a fire — Master said,
“Let the mind burn in its own fire.”

It helped me very much — I tell you from my practical life — it helped me very much. Whenever it started to create any fire in me I didn’t pay attention. I thought of the Master. I knew that it is the act of the mind. Then I thought about the Mission, then I made Simran, then I thought about the Master Power.
So let it go. Without my attention it cannot do anything.
“Let the mind burn in its own fire.”
It is spoken by the Master Power, it bears a positive value in our life, so we must do it.
So this thing which He told is not only linked with me, it concerns all of you. Do it! Because two things are very much needed: About your thoughts — thoughts are very potent — if you have to think, then think in the better way, think for the development of your soul . . .

If we have a strong wish to do something in our life, He hears it, and He helps us a lot. He sees that His child wants Him, He will come forward, I think. If really we want to overcome our mind, we want to overcome our wishes, God will help us, surely He will help us. If really we determined our life and make a very fast decision in our life, then this Power will help us at once.
You know, once a medicine is given, you are free from the disease. You should not be affected with it (again). And now you have to be resistant to this disease for all the times.
To become resistant (to the diseases of the mind) you should be very healthy in your actions, deeds, and thoughts. Our thoughts, and deeds, and actions should be very pure and potent — and the mind will not jump again within. In this way we have to clear this earthen pot (human body).
Kabir says,
“You are very short-lived in this world, I tell you.”
He says,
“This life is but for four days.”
This (human body) is a pitcher, this is a pot, it contains the Water of Life within. You know, when the pitcher breaks, the reflection of the water also disappears with it.
This life is a big heritage. We are losing it for very little, little reason, and we are not paying attention to it. We are not paying attention to its reality. There is a Truth in it. The Water of Life that will be spoiled with it. Then we cannot use it. God knows, if He blesses us with this man-body or not. If He doesn’t bless us, what can we do? If He doesn’t allow us to come into the man-body again, then? We have to repent for it. Then we have to make a promise with Him, only after this, this will be given to us.
But man is of the habit of learning something and loosing (forgetting) something also. He can lose some good things from him, and he can learn some bad things in the life. It doesn’t matter, it does not mean, that in the next age (birth) we will be more capable, we can be more bad in the next life. So Master would never prefer you to any other life.
Master says,
“In this very life you can do each and everything.
It is said to be a right time to live in it and do for Him (God).”
So in this connection I have all good wishes for all of you to deal with it in the practical way.

Whatever our soul desires, that will be different than our wishes (of the mind), I tell you. If we really attend to the desire of the soul, then it will be a beautiful play in our life.
So in today’s Satsang we are very near to the New Year, maybe within half an hour we will be born in the year 1993 . . .

We are all the sons and daughters of the one Father and we have to awake in Him.
He who does not love the fellow-being, he cannot love the Father. If we see the Father in everybody, do we love everyone or not? We will surely love. In actually, he who does not see the Master in himself, he also does not see the Master in others, this is one problem.
If one feels the nearness (of our Father),
definitely, his angle of vision will be changed.
Only if this chance comes in our life for a day or so, for an hour or so, see how far we are changed, how our thoughts begin to become positive and potent, and we do not find fault in anybody.
We see that faults are with us,
and faults are nowhere else.
Kabir says,
“If we are not good, even then
no one is bad in the world,
I tell you.”
This is what is spoken by some highest Soul in the world, some highest leader of Spirituality, who came in the world. Let us live with Him, always. Not but for some times, not only to see the effect of for some time — no.
We have to live it up to our last breath,
because we have to awake in Him,
we have to live with Him eternal life.
And this eternal life is the theme of all competent Masters.

So these are the things which I wanted to tell, because these are the very potent things we have to bear in our life for all the times, not only any part of our life. It is our heritage and it is linked with our heritage rather — all these things, these are potent things. If you are very careful about it, these will be embedded like jewels and rubies on the throne where you have to settle for ever. And this everything you spend, you do for Him, it bears the value within.
So this is why Kabir has told,
“O man, your house where you have to live forever is very, very strong.
You take everything and beautify it there.”
That is our purpose, and we should never forget our purpose.
